An electrician needs a good knife. It’s a staple tool, and we use it pretty constantly some days. This is one of Klein’s best made tools I have used in a long time. The blade is a fair bit longer then some of their other knives. The blade is made of 440A stainless, it’s a fair piece of metal according to the reference charts you can find here.
On the flip side it is fairly easy to sharpen, and I have used it for all sorts of applications around the house including carving apples, and other acidic fruits, I can vouch for it’s high corrosion rating!
It’s got great features such ambidextrous thumb pegs for deployment with both hands. And it also has some useful wire stripping notches… They are not super great on solid wires, but work pretty awesome on stranded. I still would not rely on this for a huge job, but if this is all you have on you in the top of the scissor lift, it might actually save you the trip back down.
All in all, this is a great Klein tool. And I am very content carrying this piece of mind convenience every where!
