I am a man who knows affliction.
I was born into a world of flesh, blood, and bone.
Imperfect in nature, by way of sins and shadows;
AutoBots & Decepticons, Smoke and mirrors.
Things were so much simpler back then,
A new millennium they said,
Something to celebrate they said,
Old boys' lies, in a different day.
Our collective odometer,
Rolled over a click,
Foolish men playin games,
Yet their souls remain thick.
The Lootin' and the Shootin'?
Never did cease.
The Warring and the Starving?
Dramatically Increased.
While the fields grow empty,
And the bees are droppin',
Bears found their caves,
While The Bulls, … they Parade.
"The Nations" built their Towers,
Neon-gods of the night,
And then? Came the Folly,
Their power? their might?
Speed up, to Hypertext,
Point and Click, … Here for love!
Forever long time; but then what fate?
When simple words lose weight?
Step right up, double file,
Spin the Russian Roulette,
No need to fret,
Just make a small bet,
Snortin' and Sniffin'
Tokin' and Shootin'
Bandaids are great,
If your Johnson & Johnson
Problems need solvin',
Solutions need people,
No need for McGyver,
To Mc-Kiss it good-partin'.
Something to Celebrate, they said?
A brave new world, they said?
Lies are hard for believin',
When kids in bags keep comin'.
Emerald-Isle: Bobby Sands, and,
Nelson Mandela, Starved for the right?
Was it the cost of freedom?
Was it worth the fight?
But Bobby, Mandela,
Gandhi and Jack,
Luther and Lenon,
Really missed the flight.
Always Remember,
Lest we forget,
They all came in wake,
Of He from on High.
The Child came before us,
For "We", his people,
To give us the knowledge,
The keys of salvation.
In His tender compassion,
By the forgiveness of debts,
The Dawn from on High,
Shall break out upon us,
To shine bright on those,
Who dwell in the darkness,
Lying in silence,
In the shadow of death.
In His name there is Peace,
And re-conciliation,
A guide for our feet,
The Way, The Life,
OF TRUTH, AND LIBERATION.
